Thursday Social At Beer Circus

Postby huw williams » Tue Mar 21, 2006 4:41 pm

I've had a word with Graeme the landlord and he's very happy for us to turn up en-masse on Thursday. Suggest we start at 8.00. If you get there any earlier you'll be w****ed before 10.00 and fighting by 11.00!

There should be enough of us to completely take over the downstairs cellar-room which has plenty of seats.

Directions:

It's North of Geoffrey Butlers by about 300 yards and on the other side of the road. Looks more like a cafe than a pub.

This could be the last fully attended social for a while as the season is about to start in earnest and many riders are far too serious to drink beer when racing (it says here). So let's get as many people along as possible.

I love the sound of this beer circus place, and seeing as how I've developed an allergy to my bike I may yet get along. Sadly not this time however, Swiss Family Snoopington are off to Montenegro on Thursday. We've not been invited to the big funeral but I'm gutted that they've pulled out of the Eurovision - I was really looking forward to a good sing song.

Cheers (hic) - Snoop

Late start v good idea. Will give me chance to go training (hahaha) before knuckling down to the more serious business of the evening.

See you around 8.30-9ish.

I'll pop over for this too.
This will be my second club get together since returning to ol' blighty - hopefully it will be significantly less painful than my first club get togher - on the bike last Saturday. But then it'll all come down to what choice of tipple I make, mind. See you Thursday.

Maria, I once took a fancy lady to Beer Circus (no, really I did), and she says "Glass of red wine please" to Graeme, the governor. "Watch the bar for a minute will you?" Graeme says to me, walks out, goes to the off-licence round the corner, buys a bottle of red wine, comes back and pours her a glass!

How cool is that?

I think they've started selling wine on a more regular basis now though so you should be ok. If you drink bottled beer stay away from anything with a picture of Devils or heavy artillery on the label.
