Just about getting round to finally becoming a member, however...

Which do I join first, Addiscombe CC or British Cycling? (Bearing in mind i will apply for a racing licence at the same time as BC membership, which leads me to believe i need to be an ACC member first)

On the form theres a bit about being nominated and seconded, what does this mean?

How long does it take to process my application? Because i would like to apply for BC membership and racing licence asap.

Also on the form there is a question about being a member of other cycling organisations, such as CTC or BC. Do i put no, or 'about to apply' or something else?

Which leads me on to the bit about insurance, as yet i have none. But given that i am about to apply for BC membership, does this matter?

Maybe im just thick, but its all a bit complicated for my liking. There was me thinking it was just about riding, maybe Armstrong was right when he said 'It's Not About the Bike'!?

Cheers

Oh dear, it's really not meant to be complicated. Sorry about that.

Nominated and seconded happens at the committee meeting. Just leave those bits blank and we'll fill them in at the next meeting.

I see your dilemma regarding the application to BC but I can see no reason why you cannot apply for BC and ACC at the same time, putting BC on the ACC form and ACC as your club for BC race licence.

No doubt I will be chastised by some of the long-standing members for suggesting that, in which case I await their more experienced opinion with interest.

Cheers

Hi Adam,

Tamar is right, fill the forms in as she suggests, that will be fine.

All the best,
