Anyone for drinks?

Postby Alan M » Wed Jun 21, 2006 8:56 am

It has been suggested that it might be time for another round of ACC drinks.

This is my suggestion and we'll see if it sticks.

Date: Thursday, 29 June, not sure if this will clash with any football games but it is on the eve of the tour and we could even do a sweepstake??

Time: 7.00 onwards, a bit earlier to take advantage of a hoped for warm summer evening.

Venue: Dog and Bull, Surrey Street. (market). From the outside it looks a bit of a spit and sawdust pub but it has a large courtyard garden and if it doesn't work because of the weather we could move on to one of the zillions of other pubs in the vicinity.

Cheers - Snoop

people can come and go as they please - it is earlier to take account of a light and hopefully balmy evening - if that doesn't work because of the weather people can arrive later or leave earlier as they wish - or drink less I suppose!!

"it is earlier to take account of a light and hopefully balmy evening"...

As opposed to a heavy, barmy evening??

I may be there but it's the day before pay day so will have to consult my piggy bank.

Never can say no to a drink up, so I'll be there. I hope we have a better turn out than the recent Wednesday evening rides.

If it is going to be "come and go as you please", then would probably want to commit to the same pub all evening, otherwise the late evening party animals are not going to know where we are. If the weather is not up for sitting in the courtyard, is the pub too much of a dive to sit inside?

I will be there. I never worry about the venue as long as there is drink and plenty of it.

Drinks

Postby Paul on the Pearson » Wed Jun 28, 2006 7:37 pm

A barmy evening and booze, sounds like a good idea. The Dog and Bull's a decent proper pub, (my standards may of course be lower than the more dicerning ACC'ers as regards respectable drinking establishments). I used to go there when I worked at the college. I think its a Youngs pub so decent beer.
