OK we've nine days to go I'm getting excited again - especially since Jan won the Tour of Swiss! Does anyone know (a) any sports bars/Pubs in London that will be showing the Tour? (b) I don't have cable or Sky do you guys know if ITV1 are doing a highlights show... Oh dear with all this sport on TV the girlfriend is not happy :D

Toks,

I watch all things cycling at Italia Uno, Charlotte Street where we went for a cappuccino that time. They'll show all the stages live and any highlight shows on Eurosport. The World Cup may infringe on some of this, esp. if an Italy game is on but Felice tries to show all major sports live.

Agree with Marco. My Dad picked up a cheap freeview box last year just for watching le Tour and never looks back on it. If it's the same as last year they show a 1hr highlights show each night in ITV2 - old C4 gang of Liggett, Sherwen, and occaisional side stories from Gary Imlach so a good show.

They also seem to use some of the digital/interactive channels more these days for extra non-mainstream sport. e.g. ITV2 had highlights of Paris-Roubaix this year.

I used to go to the Sports Cafe on Haymarket. You had a choice of about 500 tvs to watch it on plus a Giant cinema like projector. I used to buy a cike and stay there all afternoon.
Don't know if it's still there....this was 5 or so years ago.

They even had TVs above each urinal in the toilets so you didn't miss any action while you had a leak!!!
