Building Regulations Re Toilets

Is anyone aware of impending legislation regarding toilet facilities at work.

I have heard something about
120% redundancy for men
and greater for female (60/60)

I know this is a strange question to ask but Tower hamlets district surveyor is saying that one of the toilets cannot be turned into a shower block because of new building regs...

At my workplace we have an average of a dozen people cycling to work each day, most whom want to have a shower when they get here. We have one shower and there is frequently a queue outside at peak times. So, we investigated getting another shower put in the building and were told by Camden council that any new shower would be required to have disabled/wheelchair access. That was going to cost an arm and a leg, if you'll excuse the expression, so we're stuck with one shower. Could be that you've come up against the same problem.

We have just moved to a newly refurbushed building which has 3 cubicles per floor and one combined shower and toliet cubicle. There is also a basement shower room which might be a wheelchair type with a shower head with no tray (ie) wet room style. It is quite large (ie) 2mx4m but has absolutely no extra equipment (ie) only a large fixed shower head, a drain in the floor and a pull cord light.

One thing which helps queues is if there is a communal changing area outside the shower which greatly reduces the amount of time the each person spends in the actual shower. This might get around the requirement to provide a new shower.
