Alex

I think 53 is a medium frame

I'm looking for a 56" + frame, I'm 6'1".

Still its worth a look I suppose,

Do you wanna sell this?

Maybe I could use the parts to build up a larger frame.

I've got The Captains ( Monty's ) old GT ZRX cyclocross don't know if that's any good for you . Like you I'm 6 ft 1 in which I guess is about the same as Monty. And better still, unlike your brand new Bianchi, it's in Addiscombe colours so it'll go with your yellow Gore windstopper ( discount at Butlers thread) - so no problem there then

The only problem is how soon do you need a cc bike because unfortunately at the moment it's my only road bike - although I'm in the more advance stages of getting a new bike, fingers crossed.

Maybe I should have a butchers at it.

I'm after a bike in the next few weeks, would like to get into the CC season.

I have a 56cm 2004 Trek XO I'm looking to sell.

It's in very good nick, with a brand new ultegra block and Dura Ace chain.
Black Anno frame, Chris King headset.

It was £1000 new, make me an offer.

I liked the idea of CX racing but have never found the time to race regularly.

George, I was waiting to see if I could go on the cr on sat , maybe you could've had a look at the ZRX then - unfortunately I can't.

But if Sids got a cc bike available straight away do you want to go for that ? I really don't know how soon mine will be available - still haven't sourced all the bits for the new one, trying to do that this week but there could very easily be hiccups.

This is my story, sad but true

The decision had been made, I was getting that frame. Evans had it in stock, in my size and I could almost afford it.

Yes it was going to be a lean christmas but heck, I was going to get 42 % discount on a frameset that had been lovingly created with latin passion from exotic metal by skilled craftsmen probably singing opera to each other.
The sort of frame that Leonardo Di Vinci might of used if only he'd had the time to work out the real purpose of the wheel (Dumb idea putting it on a flying machine)
Furthermore, I had seen more frames in the last couple of weeks (and with each new "yes I'm diffinately getting that one" gettig more expensive than the previous) than I'd had bike rides in a year.

I needed to get my life back.

So it was that, with cheque book in hand and a grim determination, I set off on that short journey to the shop, nothing, I thought, could happen to change my mind now.

As I walked I thought "I'll call Marco and tell him of my momentous decision"
Famous for his no-nonsense, anti-bling, ride-it-til-snaps philosophy (anyone else celebrate their chains' birthday ?) he immediately picked up on the one niggling doubt I had. No, there was no point getting a frame costing several times the value of my car, that wasn't full titanium because, I was never ever, going to buy another frame again.

So it was that plan "S" went out the window.
I'm now working on plan "T"

Yes a Marco, a custom made full titanium frame for £650 seems ridicously sensible.

can't see myself getting one . . . .

Yes, as I said Marco ridicously sensible.
I did spend three days trying to get Omega to answer the phone without luck, and when I went to Butlers today to pick up my new On-One scandium mtb, George told me he'd heard they were going bankrupt - glad I didn't hand them over my wad.
He also said that it's the third time their guvnor gone bankrupt and that the British made frames were a myth - they all came from Taiwan.

Did try Setavento, they don't have a phone number at all - their website says email them and they'll phone you.
Yeh right

Looks like it's going to be a Van Nicolas/ Airborne from Butlers at least they'll probably still be in business in a months time, and if they don't answer their phone I can always walk there in ten minutes.

Sorry George this thread was suppose to be about finding YOU a bike.
