Road Race Training This Sunday.

Postby Andrew G » Thu Nov 16, 2006 9:55 am

For those who are still feeling fresh after Saturday night the plan is to ride over for the training session (remember your lights for the return trip).

Meet at 11am at CSS.

Depending which forcast I look at it might be a bit showery / raining (BBC = Showers, Metcheck = Dry). If it is the plan might change to drive down, or if its raining properly to give it a miss this time. If I won't be at CSS I'll post here.

See you Saturday / Sunday. :)
Even if there are some members of the fairer .... there.

That must have been an agonising decision for you to make, Sean

Am away for a week from Saturday but will make the next session, rain or shine.
I wanted to do this but a perfect storm combination of highly probable hangover plus sh1t weather and an early sunday am start make this as likely as Jan getting a pro team place next year.

BBC and Metcheck both now saying no rain, so all I have to do is spike your vodka with orange juice. :D After the Basso/Disco farce who's to say Jan won't.

Forcast's dry tomorrow, but lethagy has taken hold so I will drive over rather than add any extra miles.

Andrew, I think today's meeting point is Leigh village hall which John Leitch has booked. His note said:
Previously we have started from Brockham, but the upsurge of interest means a move to a village hall for the Sunday Nov 19 session.

You need to make your way to Leigh....so where is it?

In the past we had one rider who arrived two hours late having been to Leigh in Kent (I didn’t realise there was such a place).

To find this Leigh, the one in Surrey, on the map, find the mid-point of the main road (A25) running between Dorking and Reigate. There is a roundabout at this mid-point where you turn off and head southwards.
The road passes through Betchworth and crosses the river Mole on a narrow bridge.
Over Snowerhill, a little up-and-down climb, you then drive through flat fields for a mile or so before reaching a T-junction with the Severn Stars pub on your right.
This is known locally as Dawesgreen and is part of the village of Leigh.
Turn right into Common Road and the hall is to your right after about 200m…. it’s right opposite the cricket field.

Thanks for posting that address Andrew.

Unfortunately I'm feeling a little less up for it as I was last night.
Due to a late one at the Treehouse, thanx to Marco's excellent DJ'ing skills.
Just going to take the new Bianchi on a quiet spin round the back roads instead.

Hope you enjoyed the dinner as much as i did last night.
