club run on Sunday

Postby Paul R » Thu Dec 21, 2006 2:55 pm

Hi,

I'm not actually an ACCer, but I'm a friend of Toks, and I'll be in Surrey over Xmas, and want to go on a club run on Sunday. Will you be out? If so, where do you meet up? And will there be a fixed wheel group?

Thanks!

Paul R, club runs usually Saturday, but there might be some doing a Sunday one as well.

Thanks for the replies - didn't realise it was a Saturday clubrun. I can't make that, but if anyone's out on the Sunday, please let me know.

Paul, may not be one of ours but:

From Dulwich paragon site:

Sundays:

Clubruns leaving the French Café (KB edit - that's cafe St Germain? bike stands outside with outside heated seating) on Crystal Palace Parade (KB edit - nearest train station is Crystal Palace then very short cycle to top of hill and the cafe is just off the crossroads). Arrive just before 9:15am if you want coffee and croissants; just after if you just want to get straight out on the ride, which now leaves at 9:30 SHARP. Route varies week to week, and aims to cover 70-80 miles at a sporting pace. These rides will only stop briefly and occasionally to re-group, so you do need to be comfortable with the possibility of needing to find your bearings if you miss the re-groupment.

This ride aims at a 20mph average

In addition we are running 50-mile clubruns, aimed at a pace somewhere between the Saturday ride and the main Sunday ride. These are now weekly - also at 9:15am, for a 9:30 sharp start. Routes will vary, but the normal rules of Saturday rides will apply: we'll wait for riders at any junctions so you don't get abandoned somewhere in deepest darkest Kent.

This ride aims at an 17mph average

Note the new start time for both weekend rides, by popular request - and also always check the message board before coming out in case of any last-minute changes.

Good luck!

Thanks Kieran, but I'll be too far out of London for the Dulwich one, so I think I'll give another club a go.
