Bike maintenance book

Postby ajay khandelwal » Wed Dec 27, 2006 1:51 pm

Hi, I have dismantled my LOOK for winter storage and need a book to help me put it back together next year  I have a 30 pound voucher from Smiths and plan to buy a race bike maintenance book. All you club mechanics, what can you suggest please ?

Zinn and the Art of Road Bike Maintenance by Lennard Zinn is quite good.

Andrew is right, I have that one and I have built two bikes from scratch using it. They keep falling apart but that is more to do with my lack of skill than the book.

Cheers

Thanks all ! Alan bike room has already been turned into study - 4 bikes + tandem live in brilliant bike shed built by Hillingdon hero George... My bike actually become progressively lighter during winter training - everytime someone put a set of mudguards on I took a couple of bolts out of my bike, helping to give me the edge on Merstham drag. Sadly bike is now disintegrating under this deceit and I have had to put it away in basement for hibernation. Orange cannondale has now been placed back into service for next few club runs. Placed an order for 2nd edition of Zinn and art of Road bike maintenance so looking forward to getting into that. George recommended a maintenance book from Halfords too - so will look out for a second hand copy of that too.
