Disc wheels

Any of you tester types have any ideas regarding putting air into a disc wheel.

Found a right angled adaptor for my pump. Managed to get around 100psi before the valve adaptor blew out.

What I really need is another hand.

Is there a technique that I`m missing or will I need assistance every time I want to use it.

All ideas welcomed.

I can just about get the normal head on my Silca track pump into the hole in my Corima disk, but if you really need to use a right angle adaptor try any or all of these:

1) Hold the adaptor on with one hand and pump with the other, but you might struggle to get up to high pressure.
2) Use something like a toe strap through the hole and round the tyre to keep the adaptor on.
3) Use some sort of wedge in the hole to stop the adaptor moving. Something like a wine cork might do it.

My TT bike has HED tri spoke wheels which give the same problem. Now use a simple system which works fine.
I use a small presta to schrader screw on straight adaptor, available from Geoffrey Butlers, (make sure you get one with an O ring in it). Then you will find a car foot pump connector will fit on it within the space available.
Pumps up very quickly and as much pressure as you want. You cant read the pressure as it is more than the gauge reads but I guarantee you will get 160 psi no problem.

Must be a right angle adapter for a disc.

I hold the adapter with one hand and pump with the other. I wedge the handle into my belly and use my body weight for the last 30psi. Probably looks like I've got something stuck up my backside, but it seems to work.

Why can't someone invent a right angle adapter with a screw on nut?

Where's the missus when you need a hand?

Seriously, I purchased many years ago from MDT a strip of velcro that went round the adapter through the hole in the disc and connected over the tyre, hence holding the adapter in place whilst pumping.
