The Surrey Alps??

Morning All,

I'm pretty much a beginner living in Wallington and would like to know where the nearest good hills are.

Preferably heading south in some nice country lanes with few cars & people to watch me suffer.

Ideally this would be a maximum of 10 miles from my house because i dont fancy a long ride back after the hilly stuff.

over towards woldingham and warlingham the hills are great!! the highest i think goes up to 265m, and then near that is toys hill. thats the worst, i didnt even think there were hills that big in the south east!! another good one is titsey, chalkpit, gangers, tandridge hill, bug hill, hill top hill.

then in the other direction towards box hill there is box hill, and then a little south west of that is leith hill which is the biggest hill in the south east something like 290m. box hill is about 9 miles away from coulsdon, and lieth hill about 12. the others liek chalkpit etc etc are about 9-10 miles away from me in coulsdon.

best thing is to get an O.S map and look for the hills mentioned, and anywhere else with a bunch of contor lines!
