Dragon Ride

Postby Graham O » Mon Apr 23, 2007 1:47 pm

After watching the Marathon in London yesterday and seeing both the complete elation and exhaustion at the end of the race, I started to think about the Dragon ride.

Anyhow, I think I need to start doing some longer preparation rides. I am thinking of doing 3 or 4 preparation rides before the race. These will all be hilly and > 80 miles, at an average pace of 17 mph or so. I don't plan to be doing any long cafe stops, as there won't be any on the Dragon ride.

I hope to do the first to be on the 12th May, as the Chertsey Race is on the 5th I think. Suggest that the first is TOSH !!

Anyone out there want to join me ?

Huw - Do you still have maps for TOSH !!

Dragon Ride - Very wise Graham - especially as yesterday's temperatures were peanuts compared to the 2005 Dragon (it was 97 degrees on the senni bridge climb)

Tosh maps avaiable as pdfs - PM your email address and I'll send em out.

Haven't decided on a Tosh date yet but middle of May looks favourite

- I'm going down to Worthing after the ACC 25 on Sunday :D Reckon it could be an 80 miler, but with a lunch stop I'm afraid.

It will only be steady as I will have already ridden the 25

Which, after yesterday's 'sandbagging' post translates roughly as "It'll probably be 130 miles without stopping for food at an average speed of 25mph" :-)
