Giro's been better than the Tour for years. The Tour is way too formulaic in its structure (when was the last time they had a summit finish on stage 4), and has been spoilt by the size of the media & hanger-on caravan. They don't finish at Ventoux or many other great summits anymore because they can't fit the "village" at the top so it only goes to ski stations. The Giro goes anywhere, busses etc have to stay at the bottom of the mountain and riders go down to them after finishing.

The Giro still keeps the race as the most important thing, the Tour doesn't.

Agreed the tour organisation has become boring of late, but in a new post Lance, post testosterone (hopefully), the race should be the most exciting for years.

Last years Giro route was exciting, yet the race somewhat boring due to the drug fuelled dominator. Plus, the Giro has only made its route more 'interesting' because otherwise it just cannot compete with the tour. Im suprised they havn't resorted to having giant windmills that the riders have to get through, like crazy golf!

The tour will always be the biggest race in the world, no doubt about it. Maybe not always the most exciting, but the riders sure as hell aint gonna choose the Giro over the Tour. Apart from the Italians, none of which are even capable of winning the tour!

Oh well, they're both well worth watching...
