The strangest thing....clicking forward expecting to see the punch up but he was just running towards the line so either....

a) got the hump and wanted to stop the other one from winning
b) got the hump and wanted a shag....
c) new version of the up and personal tow
d) first rider had swallowed something, choked and the other performed the hiemlich procedure
e) the new fad of cycle cleat sk8ting by being pulled along
f) slipped and didn't want to damage his new £150 Assos bib shorts

I can fill you in on the details here.

The guy in front veered to one side to avoid the joggers lane (which is like a bike path for joggers and is a dq if you enter during a race).
He clipped the front wheel of the guy behind - who admittedly had is head down.
As he starts to fall he instinctively reaches out and grabs the guy in front - I said he is a big guy.
Keeps both of them from going down.
The run afterwards was just adrenalin and frustration.
NYC racing - nuts

very lucky they both avoided road rash.
The one still on his bike must be v strong.

I notice the look of surprise and amusement on the other faces!

I think he just wanted to stop the guy in blue from winning, which is why he put his arms in the air at the end as he'd done it
