As one of the moldy oldies thought i wold like to post a few lines about Eddy that have known from 1945
Truly pleased that there was such a fine turn out of Eddie's contemporary's ( some travling long distances) Also giave me time to reminise with my cycling friends. Thought the funeral courtage was a sight to remember. Well done younger members of the club and of cource his Navy freinds not forgetting Alec Windgrave of the Redmon. Do wish there had been an opportunity for them all to be introduced to the cycling who's who that atteneded !!
My thoughts are about the lots of cycle runs and racing week ends spent with Ed and Pat. Two of my most vivid memory's are -When riding the National Champinship 24hr 1950 run in Wiltshire when he was second -As there were few who had cars we helpers had to ride a lot of the course. (My self had to return to my RAF Station for guard duty early morning and nealy falling a sleep) Was very fortunate the course passed the gate were i was on duty After made a quick dash to see him on his last cicuit to finish (Note this event was won by Stan Butler father of Keith B )
Some 2 years later After helping on the Noth Road Ntional Championship 24hr Had the honor of running Ed out on the finishing circuit when he broke the Natinal Compertion record ( Did he make me ride hard 24mph plus )
So a regetfull Fairwell to my friend Eddie Mundy -- You will be remberd
Keith Wawman.
