A much better idea is to strap your trainers on top of your panniers.

You don't.

Seriously.

Running is only to be used in cases of extreme bus and or train missing emergencies. That's it. If I had my way I'd ban it as an olympic sport, unless maybe the runners had to carry a full pint of beer atop their heads - or something
