Our good friend Sinkewitz

Is now free to look for a new team, since he escaped with a one year ban, what a legend (thats sarcastic btw!). He gets caught for doping, then becomes a super-grass, puts cycling into further disarray, and harms its reputation further, causes Adidas and T-Mobile both long standing sponsors to withdraw, and he gets one year. Must be smartest doper to get off that lightly.

I think we should sign him :), and then look at Mazzo, and then Basso, Landis maybe?

Turning supergrass after being caught by the fuzz, I should coco.

Maybe they gave him a shorter ban to "reward" giving them info to try and help, long term, the doping issue. If they didn't what incentive would there be for a rider to do so rather than just keep schtum and keep their contacts, plus a little back-hander no doubt. You'd have to rely on the rider's conscience, which they clearly don't think is all that reliable. A bit of carrott to go with the stick.

Disagree... What he did wasn't particularly related to Addidas and T-Mobile withrawing. I also don't feel he has done anymore to damage cycling's reputation as a whole either. The UCI & ASO need no help in doing that themselves, with no drugs. Will there be a Paris - Nice on Sunday, will there be a Tour even?

Cycling in further disarray? He's hardly the most high profile drugs cheat ever is he. Like I said before, it's the bigger problems that put cycling into disarray.

I think everyone should get equal bans, supergrass or not. To me it sends the message, you can dope, then grass and be back in a year.
