The Marshalling Principle - A Reminder

Postby Snoop Doug » Fri Mar 07, 2008 5:51 pm

Now that we're gearing up to go racing - don't forget:

We passed an amend to Rule 12 at the last AGM which now obliges all racing members to marshal/support a minimum of 2 events every season. All non racing members (people who do the club run or other ACC organised events) are obliged to do a minimum of one event each season. The cut off point is the end of the membership year. So if you joined since Nov 1st 2007 you are not obliged to help this year, though your support would be most welcome if you can offer it.

This will be run by asking for volunteers. If we get sufficient offers of help that would be great. If we don't then all eligible names will go into a hat and help will be drawn at random. Once drawn you're in the frame, if you are going to be away or unavailable for any reason then you need to find a sub to cover your commitment.

I really hope that all of this years events work out at the willing volunteer stage. Nevertheless I thought it worth clarifying as it might help everyone to focus on helping out at an event to suit them rather than having their collar felt, so to speak  .
