Does anyone here know VB? Preferably the later .Net version?
I only ask because I wrote the original off road race results software as used by Beastway and other CX races many years ago in VB6 and Ive got a funny feeling they are going to ask me to add some features to it, which will probably involved doing it on the software I have now which is the latest .Net one. Either way Ive forgotten most of the little VB I knew so before I commit to this is there anyone who wouldnt mind me hassling them for guidance while Im doing it? You'd be contributing to local cyclesport every time you answer the phone to me when im stuck in the conversion process!!!

can help you out with hic VB 4.8

Why not just do it in the old VB6? That will presumably still run for a few years yet.

I never got round to learning VB.Net. It's quite different, so I reckon it would take a fair amount of effort, and take you a while.

May be easier to stick with what you know!

I'm not a VB developer but it's pretty straightforward to convert, some tips here: http://dotnet.sys-con.com/read/46335.htm
I think there's a migration tool in VB.NET too but I might be imagining it. (edit - yes there's a conversion wizard that'll get you started)
Alternatively you might consider porting it over to C# instead, probably wouldn't be any harder really than the VB.NET conversion.
