ERIC HALL

Postby monty » Thu Sep 18, 2003 12:59 pm

Im sure you are aware by now that Eric Hall (our oldest active member)was involved in a serious car accident whilst warming up for the Presidents 10 last week. He was taken to East Surrey hosp where he is in intensive care & in a critical condition, although he is showing a slight improvement; he is still on the ventilator and sedated. The doctors are gradually reducing his medication in an attempt to get him to breath un-assisted (he has managed a couple of breaths on his own).
Eric's wife is holding up OK, although they are taking things day by day.

There is a card floating around which been signed by lots of members so feel free to add your best wishes, also rather than sending emails to me you can leave a msg here & I will print them off in a few weeks & get them to Eric..

All our thoughts & prayers are with Eric, his wife & family.

I know the digest will probably be full of this but I'd like to send my best
wishes to Eric and his family.

my thoughts go to Eric and his family,

Its at times like this that we, as a club should be able to pull
together and give any support we can to his family

My thoughts, as I am sure others, are with Eric Hall. I hope he makes a full and speedy recovery.

Eric is too full of life and energy and good humour for me to be able to comprehend that he is now on a ventilator with an uncertain prognosis. We have to believe he will come through this. Please pass on my best wishes for his speedy recovery to his family. I look forwards to seeing him on the road to recovery v v soon.

Although I dont know Eric, I saw him joking with his pal just before the warmup on Sat and their attitude of fun participation sums up the Addiscombe 'attitude' I truly hope he fully recovers and my thoughts are with his family.

I 1st met Eric & Mick Blake (his mate) on our Sat clubrun 2ish yrs ago, I'll always remember as they were both wearing v.old ACC jerseys. So I asked Eric when was the last time you were on the ACC CR? he replied 1959! which amazed me as that was the yr I was born & its a long long time ago.

Eric has now been transferred to Queen Mary's Hospital, Sidup - Cray Ward. He is now talking, though a week ago was still confused about his current situation. He is making some progress but his eyesight is causing him problems and he has yet to undergo facial surgery including skin grafting.

I recently heard the sad news that the doctors have stated that it is highly unlikely that Eric will regain his sight...
