Road bike for a child (approx 10-11 yrs old)

Hi, anyone know a local shop that can help with the above? a colleague wants a road bike for his daughter? Initial thought was very small WSD TRek or similar but she may be too small even for those. Any advice much appreciated. Thanks.

Specifically, no. In general, second hand for cost as there's no saying when said child will have a growth spurt, probably after the cash has just left your mate's wallet :D . You could try an email to VCL or Sutton who both have loads of kids and may therefore be a good source of secondhand bikes that have been well looked after.

Try AD Cycles in Horsham. He has a 24" wheel racer in the shop at the moment.

The owner has 2 boys that race, one is 9 the other is 11, and he is used to sourcing small bikes.
