8/11 CR format

Like last yr we have several Agreeables in the Boxhill Ballbuster inc Steve Bayliss, unlike last yr the weather looks a lot better. Id like to encourage all grps to either go via Box &/or come back via box, this way there will be a constant flow of agreeables to support the competitors. The race starts @ 8am & the leaders (SB & Co) are finishing @ 11.45ish but the rest are still finishing up to 1pm (if they finish at all).

So here is the proposed grp split from CSS

1. Boxhill direct
2. cw caf
3. bg caf
4. LS
5. Jaynes coaching

From earlier thread I am going to be going up from CSS at 7.30am so get to Box Hill just after they start, will do a couple of loops of the course when get there and see if can spot any agreeables struggling round to cheer them on. Will then cycle back over to Rusper and meet up with Club Run coming the other way, to then no doubt go back up to Box Hill again. I am not sure how many people are coming down to CSS at 7.30am but any one is welcome. Will take it at a steady pace over to box hill so all abilities will be able to hold on.

May take a break half way up Box Hill to see some of the runners, as being sadistic it is the best place to see peoples pain when they are running up Box Hill.

See all you early birds at CSS at 7.30am.

Cheers

Might see you at CSS Marek, but am undecided about that much of an early start. I'm going to be meeting friends at Boxhill around 8 to play on mtbs in between shouting encouragement to my friend Sue and any ACC folk we see.

Since we'll be heading back to mine afterwards I'm probably going to drive to somewhere in the vicinity as I can't be arsed to ride back to Clapham from there when everyone else is tucked up warm in their cars....but if I get there and park up really early I could ride to CSS for 7.30 and then head back to Boxhill with you before meeting other guys at 8. But most probably I will stay in bed until last minute.

As I suspected I met up with myself at CSS on Sat. morning at 7.30am. Waited for 5 mins and then set off on my own to Box Hill. Got there just as the Ballbuster started. Managed to see Michael Kazimierski getting a fine start in the run, I think he was about fifth and David Lombari, well I don't think he was fifth from the back but somewhere close.

Anyway, stopped for a cuppa on top of box hill after having a quick chat with Tamar who was about to go Mountain Biking.

Made my way down box hill after my tea and stopped on the hair pin to cheer along all the runners after their initial lap. MK was doing well and DL came along a bit later and seemed to be taking it all in his stride. I then went up to the top of Box Hill again to meet up with Gavin, Maria and Tamar (who had given up on the Mountain Biking idea after her mate Justin had fallen off in the car park).

Gavin and I then made our way to Newdigate to meet up with the club run. We met up with Dougs group going to Beare Green where we stopped for a nice cuppa and a chance to warm up a bit. We then proceeded back to Box Hill and we went up at a fairly fast pace, cheering on the stragglers of the Ballbuster. Marco was on the top with a few others and DL had just finished in just over 4 hours. Well done to David, I know the pain you must have been going through on that last climb. I think that MK came about 15th place according to Marco.

We then split into a couple of groups and headed back for CSS. Good ride as ever, had about 100km on the clock when I got home.

Cheers
