Just dropping a line to mention the first ACC coaching session on Saturday (8th) went very well.
I was very pleased to see so many people who were already frozen from watching the Ballbuster head out to Leigh for around an hours worth of coaching.
I started off with some simple group riding skills, Through and off practice and an introduction to the sprint ladder.
There is a lot of different skills to be learnt as well as skills to be worked on so its worth going to as many coaching sessions as possible to get the most out of them.
I am going to find a car park/ flat area to do some other stuff that can't be done on open roads. Kenley aerodrome is on my list of places to visit, if you have a better idea of somewhere to go that is closed road/car park then let me know.
I am also available to work with individuals to develop a training schedule and set goals for next season. If you are interested, then drop me a line.
I hope it was an enjoyable introduction to group coaching for everyone who joined in. I would really appreciate feedback, good or bad.
The next session will be concentrating on more group riding and tactics as well as pedalling.
This is relevant to all riders of every discipline including those amongst you who simply enjoy a good club run and those who will be racing/tt'ing next season.
thanks again for the huge turn out and I hope to see as many as possible again in 2 weeks time. (22nd nov, saturday morning at the same meeting place as the club run.) I have also got some faster helping hands to help organise groups out on the road and take you out for a long slow base training ride afterwards if you fancy that.
