Addiscombe purchasing power

Hi Guys

Just a thought that may save the club members some money.

With the 300 members that are registered and nearly 70 out each week surely we are all going through bike parts left right and centre.

Everybody will need a steady stream of tyres (tires) and inner tubes amongst other things.

Therefore could we not do some sort of bulk pruchase with a view to getting a discount. Surely some places would be able to offer discounts if you bpught a load at once?

I am sure that someone has thought of this before and has had some experience of arranging something.

Another thing suggestion could be for the cafe to stock things like energy bars and inner tubes. I for one would probably buy some on occasioins??

Any other thoughts

this is a good idea. I would reckon the mark up on sundries like tyres, inner tubes, energy bars etc is pretty significant. I would be willing to approach Pearsons if I had a view on numbers of peeps and likely quantitites of goods. It'd be a bit like a tuck shop, we could run it out of me garage.....yeah whatever?

Who is on good terms with GBs? Would someone mind posing a similar question to them once we have a feel for this?

Also - I wouldn't mind storing some of this stuff if that helped to simplify things.

Snoop

PS - looking at the tyre t(h)read maybe a real shop will always be too expensive, p'raps we should email our enquiry to some of these on line dudes?

Well we already get a 10% discount at Butlers. :D

I do recall Huw got a good deal on SIS stuff a couple of years ago by putting in a big order. Either that or it was CW freebies that he was flogging on

I'll be buying a load of CTT handbooks, saving the testers 50p each; enough to buy a slice of cake at the HQ after an event.

http://www.bicyclerubber.com/acatalog/Vittoria.html will do 10 inner tubes for £22.99.

I have - when in a particularly half-glass-empty mood - bought 20 at a time, which worked out about £1.50 each. But can I remember where from? No  .
