This guy was responsible for many a happy hour when I was a nipper sat in front of the tv.

RIP Mr Postgate

I appreciate your grief but maybe change the title to something a bit less alarming!

Sad indeed. Our first dog was called Ivor after the engine - he was a Welsh border collie.

Bagpuss! And Noggin the Nog!

I managed to buy one of the limited editions Bagpuss they brought out a few years ago, made to the original pattern - I never realised he was pink and yellow; we only had black and white tv!!

PS Huw wants to steal my Bagpuss

I liked The Pogles. Found Ivor the Engine rather frightening and... Welsh

Have to say I thought Mr Postgate was already dead :o

[quote="Sean Hogan - 何祥"]I've already ordered Bagpuss - The Wilderness Years from Amazon so my daughter can share the joy in years to come. I reckon she's ready for the Clangers any day now.

You're probably not alone, Mr H - it's truly an ill wind that blows no-one any good.

Was anyone ever really ready for the Clangers?

In a slight deviation from the topic (sorry, Mr P - we've already moved on), I'm in the process of ordering the complete Camberwick Green/Trumpton/Chigley box set. I'll be watching it all first to make sure it's suitable for Albert - by which time he'll probably be too old for it.

If Albert doesn't want it can I have first refusal. Trumpton and Camberwick were favourites.

To tell you the truth, Andrew, I'm using him (fairly transparently) as an excuse. But I hope he'll like it anyway.

'Here is a box, a musical box - wound up and ready to play.'

Lovely colour palette and guitar music. None of the characters had a bloody attitude, either.

Must dig out my Windy Miller egg-cup one of these days.

No, but a course of antibiotics usually clears it up.
