I have entered, look you.
Open for entry on www.dragonride.co.uk. Great ride, nice scenery.
There was a good ACC contingent last year. Let's try and get a few more this time.

Excellent! No need to service, oil or grease the black'n'orange steed for the next 6 months; those magic Mavic fellows can fix it for me :D

I've just signed up too.

Will sort out my accomodation in the new year.
Last year I managed to combine a camping trip with the Tour of the Black Mountains. Would be good if I can do the same here as that's a much cheaper option.

You'd better get your accommodation sooner rather than later - I'm booked into here http://www.court-colman-manor.com/index.html 8) but it took a bit of casting around

Do the long one Rob, it costs the same as the short one and you'll find it more rewarding.

Last year some of us stayed here.
It was £85 for a twin and included breakfast. There were quite a few doing the Dragon ride (including other non-Addiscombe) staying here and they let us keep all our bikes in an unused conference room which was kept locked so keeping them safe and warm. There was a wedding do at the place which meant the disco was quite loud in the evening but a celebratory beer of two meant sleeping wasn't a problem :D . Overall it was reasonable accommodation and only about 5 miles from the start so a nice little warm up to ride to the start at Pencoed College (roads are clagged solid with people driving there). Connor and a couple of others were staying at another place on the same road - here.

As Amy says though book now they fill up quick.

P.S. Bridgend is a dump so don't bother to waste time getting there too early to see the town, there's nothing to see.

Thanks for the info Andrew. I have a cousin who lives in Coity about 6 miles from the start, so I probably stay with him (save me a few quid) Will defo join you for a celebratory drink after though. Best start my hill training soon.

I'm not doing it this year (other things at a similar time taking my money) but it was a nice ride and a good weekend so I expect I'll do it again soon. Tons of ACC do it so it was like a real club weekend away, great atmosphere.

I just booked at Court Colman Manor too. Just a head up to remind you to hurry sorting out your accommodation, most of the few hotels in the area are already sold out apparently!
To get there, there is a direct train from Paddington (takes 2:30) and apparently it's possible to use Groupsave (4 people travelling for the price of 2), so it might be a good idea if we are several agreeables travelling by train (tickets are not on sale yet for this date).

oh no... If we're going there the same time we could share a taxi?

I was looking at the train option too - when are you travelling? I'm planning on going Saturday to arrive about midday (gives time to get to the hotel, get bikes sorted and ride over to pick up our packs) and returning Monday some time leisurely (might as well enjoy both breakfast and the Indian brasserie 8) )
