Slime inner tubes

Anybody had any experience of ....

Im not too fussed about weight cos its on my old buike that I just fixed and will be using it to get to work on and the club run. More bothered about not getting punctures

Also which size would be best suited for my bike?

I've been using slime tubes on my MTB and found them good. The only thing I've noticed is when they go down a bit, or I've been adjusting pressures for conditions/terrain/Cyclo-X if you let a bit of ait out you get a very slight dampness on your fingers (ooo matron). No slime comes out as such though just a bit of residue I think, sorry this has got very finbarrish.

I had my first puncture with them at Leith Hill the other Sunday but the tyre went down slowly and I just pumped it up and carried on and it was fine for the remaining hour of the ride and didn't seem to lose pressure. Bike's been in the garage since then so don't know how it's held up since then but I'm certainly carrying on using them on the MTB.

I use them on the winter/cross/commuting bike. They are heavier than normal tubes, but if they save me from having to crouch by the side of the road in the rain fixing a puncture, I'll be happy.

The one time I have had a thorn in one of them, I pulled the thorn out, there was a "hiss" then a blob of the green slime appeared, bubbled a bit then sealed the hole. I think I lost about 20psi from the tyre, but it held for the rest of the ride (another 30 miles or so) and patched fine when I was home and dry.
