On the subject of rear mechs, if one is struggling to return to neutral (i.e at the 11/12s, but has the limiter screws properly adjusted), is there anything you can do short of dismantling, servicing and then rebuilding it?
At the moment I've squirted a lot of lube in/at it, and it's got a couple of days to sink in as I'll be on the race bike the next two days. So hopefully that'll do it. Would like to avoid having to dismantle it for another couple of months, but it is playing havoc with the indexing, so it may well have to be done...
Actually thinking about it I do have another rear mech, so maybe I'll do it anyway. But any suggestions on the old one? It is getting on for 4 years old, but surely it should last longer than that?
And sorry, I don't have time for any anti-Shimano words of wisdom!!
