well spotted feller! I intend to do a piece on the redhill 18 if we can get some pics then all the better - I'll keep my eye out for the paparazzi. I'm bricking it about 2moro, somehow I don't think a winter of darts and pilates is quite gonna cut it

I am happy to act as a contact for local papers etc if folk want to send me stuff that's OK.

I have submitted a report on the redhill tt to the local papers today and provided a link to the pics. Here's hoping.

Also - by exception I penned a short write up of Chloe's race too. As I have said before, if one or more of the racing fraternity can be ar5ed to write stuff up for me (and it has to be short and sweet) I will add it to my TT reports and help you get the publicity your hard work derserves. This request previously has resulted in tumbleweed rolling by. The Norwood Paragon do a great job of reporting on RR - shame they never get any competition from ACC in that dept eh?

Sorry but I don't have the time to do this for you - I made an exception this time to help promote women's RR.

Hey Snoop, I can help out with write-ups. If things go to plan I will be doing a LOT of racing this summer.

Good work Mich - sounds like we could have TTs and ladez racin sorted. Now if we can just coax one of yer male counterparts.......and maybe an off roader.......and a sportive king or queen??

I got buttonholed @ the dinner by a (squiffly??) sportive-r bemoaning the lack of coverage this discipline gets. If you want something doing......etc etc yawn blah

I disagree. As a sportive-r I find there is plenty of coverage in CW, Cycle Sport or C+. Individually we may believe our efforts are worthy of committing to print (see my Dragon and etape reports) but I can't imagine the average punter reading the local Advertiser would be interested. No big names, no heroic attacks or nerve-shredding descents.
Also, it's hardly a discipline like road racing, TT or track; just century rides with bib numbers and timer chips.

Honestly though, who would write to the papers asking them to feature an article on a race they did well in? I won't, and I don't think someone like Paul (who didn't even mention his WC result) will

I think it could be done in a cross-fire manner - ie I or someone else involved in racing sends them something on Michelle's race based on her accounts verbal and on here, and the other way round.?

Fair enough Sylv, see your point. When I write my stuff it's from a back of the bunch perspective 8) . I like your cross fire idea.

Geneal comment followed by handbags at dawn, don't worry I just fancy a sulk......Of course all this stuff is strictly optional, no one has to do anything. From my perspective tho I think the next time I'm on the receiving end of how we didn't/don't do x, y, or z I'll just put it back to the suggester to fix it themselves. Local paper wise I'm going back to concentrating on TT write ups and all other disciplines/hobbies/whatever can do, or do not as they see fit. I'm taking my toys home  until next time
