Longish sunday morning ride, anyone ?

Postby Serge » Sat Mar 07, 2009 3:45 pm

Wondered if anyone would like to cruise down to Billingshurst or Alfold tomorrow morning (weather dependent). A large group of ACCers are racing at one of these courses (course still to be announced as flooding at Kirdford, Billingshurst course). Good to support them and a 100km Approx round trip for our legs.

I plan on leaving CSS at 7.30am  . This should be just about right for there 9.30 am start.

Plenty of lanes on the way down, I guess average 17-18mph speed.

Early start I know but we want to see our guys kick some butt ! :D

Off I went on my own down to the Alford circuit road race to support the guys. Got to see our lot for about 2 laps I think. Marek was out front with about 45 second lead, everybody else seemed to be waiting at the front of the main bunch (guess you will get the full race report from them later). I then left to head back as I was very aware of the rain that was promised for midday. From what I saw everybody was having fun. I just wish I was a 3rd cat and could join in :( .
My ride was very windy in places which made it hard work. So much for my 100km, make that 141km  (got a little lost on the way back).

Anyway averaged 31kph for the entire trip. I am totally wasted now, I bit of rest and then I can do another long ride tomorrow :D .

If I plan anymore long rodes be warned they may be a little further than advertised !.
