I just got back last night from a weekend at newport velodrome in wales.
ace weekend, had my first womens only race and finally found that racing aggression thats been so ellusive to me over the past 12 months. grrr arg

Im off to manchester for a womens track training session on saturday evening ( 7th feb) and calshot is not far off either on the 29th feb

So who's going to Calshot for Paul Tunnels session? it should be a decent crack, i even have a spare seat in my car if anyone is interested in a lift there.

theres also another newport session (organised by Prime coaches) on March 7th for anyone who might be interested.

Not sure if Simon J is in Majorca or not, is he around?

hey hey

i did a 3 hr track session at Manc last weekend - second time for me, really enjoyed it.

29th isn't too good for me as i am going to ride the redhill sporting TT, but count me in for future trips.

did a bit on "track craft" whilst at Manchester - being a vertigo sufferer, didn't much like it at the top of the boards.... god knows what Calshot must be like - its about 60 degree banking isn't it, how does that work?????....

Yep, Calshot banking are steep and seem daunting when you first look at them, but because the track is smaller the bends are tighter too, so everything works just fine and once you've done a few laps it's not so daunting after all. What you do notice though is the g-forces when you're going fast and trying to stay down on the black line. Great fun!

i didnt know you were interested in track stuff Alan, you still up for having a look into coaching?
the whole coaching thing is really good for your own cycling too, means you have an idea of how to train efficiently and all that jazz...

definitely still interested in coaching - now that Jan is over at work, more time for cycling etc, and coaching qual is definitely on the agenda

when r u next out on Sat ride??? we should catch up on this then, i'd like to pick your brains on it some more

I will probably be out for the next 3, then racing starts (all being well)

I have also had one other person expressing an interest via email.

er... my next saturday ride is going to be a while for me. Im at manchester this coming sat. the next one im at Hillingdon, the next will possibly be a club coaching saturday run. could do that if you want to see what the ground work consists of.
chances are, as soon as the weather gets a bit better the only time i will ride on a saturday morning with the club will be to coach. I will no doubt be racing most saturdays and/or coaching either at Hillingdon, Herne Hill, Manchester, Newport, Eastway or other local stuff.

its going to be a busy year this year... as long as i dont get knocked off my motorbike again in the summer
