That's motor racing folks. Coming back this time next year so I gather from a friend in the Lloyd's Motor Club.

Info so far and will obviously be an updated site as things happen, although the full brochure you can download is pretty nice.

That should leave the circuit with a nice coating of rubber and oil for the next Tuesday evening

Yeah I guess that would have to be cancelled for a week.

Still in early stages as there are various things to do with H&S to sort out, erection of temporary armco (sp?) barriers. At the mo it would be done as sprints starting at the bottom of the bike circuit on the left hander at the bottom of the hill, then up the hill, left and round the hairpin, along the top through the chicane (where registration is) and along to finish at the top of the hill.

Short but fast hill climb type sprints, but still early days yet.

It's on :D . See the website (http://www.motorsportatthepalace.co.uk/) for the details and advance ticket booking - £10 a ticket on the door or £8 in advance through the website.

Addiscombe 3up TTT on Sunday 30th (please offer your services to PVT if you can and complete your club helper duty early in the year  , this is going to be a cracking event) followed by this on Bank Holiday Monday. Just got to hope for a sunny float weekend to keep everyone happy.

George and Dominic will have to find someone else to play with this time, they might find someone who can give them a bit of shelter  .

Popped up to the Palace this afternoon for a couple of hours to catch this. Quite a lot of people there and a fair amount of nice motors parked up on the grass. Down the hill a bit was the competitors area which you could stroll about through so have a closer look at the competing cars, a nice mix of classic touring cars, small sports cars and single seaters.

Elf and Safety meant you couldn't get that close to the racing, spoilsports, but with a bit of effort you could find somewhere with a decent enough view. They were doing three timed runs this afternoon but I just watched one as it would get a bit boring unless you were a car mad person comparing their run times, but then it would allow folk to come and go throughout the afternoon.

The Teslas are wierd, really fast but complete silence so it's a bit odd.

Here's a few pictures I took for those that like this sort of thing. Someone did a great spin at the haipin but unfortunately I missed the photo, a bit too lead-footed and kicked the back round but kept it down to spin it on the spot and then set off towards the chicane :) . He got a good cheer for that and left a nice swirl pattern of rubber on the track.

Aston DB5 at the start.

And the rest from the hairpin.

I was there too Andrew :D Cracking day.

I usually stay from beginning to end and watch the cars over and over and over. This year I managed to stay for just one run and then got bored.
Must be my conversion to watching cycle racing. Although Brighton to come and moto gp at Silverstone:D

Don't know about any oil or anything but if any was spilt they'd have treated it to carry on with the cars. There may still be some extra rubber on the track :D .

On the CR (no memory of who, I must be getting old), someone was saying that the issue was that the holes dug for the crash barriers were on the tarmac and needed to be filled to a sufficient standard
