My friend brought her little brother to the Smithfield Nocturne this evening. He absolutely love it!! After he finishes his GSCE's this summer he wants me to take him out on a few rides which I will do quite happily but I can't legislate for Homcidal Drivers which is a definite worry :( :( :(

Sad indeed.

I wonder, would a compulsory cycle test on a dual carriageway as part of the car driving test help people to appreciate what it's like to have nutters bearing down on you...?

17 + van + country road = lethal combination. Yet again we don't know the full story and details so can only speculate but many of my hairier moments on a bike have been caused by van drivers, driving too fast and too close on small country roads.

We must get this in persepctive however, I don't want to seem callous, but mercifully given the amount of cycling going on deaths and 'accidents' are relatively rare. I dread the day the one of my sons announces he wants a motor bike - I am completely relaxed about them cycling.
