thump

Bah, how embarrassing. First fall of the year.

Was it whizzing along in a sportive and losing it at 30mph? Non.
Was it out mtb'ing and crashing over a jump? Nein.
Was it being taken out by a car commuting through the urban jungle? Nyet.
Riding through arctic winter conditions and washing out on ice? Nne

No.

Pootering down to the shops on sunday on mountain bike (shorts, t-shirt, sandals, floppy hat, no gloves), wind caught floppy hat, one hand on handlebar, left hand went up to grab hat, whilst brain told right hand to pull brake to slow down. etc etc etc.
wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.
and over the bars.

what a wally. oh well damage not as bad as it could have been just the usual minor scrapes (shin on pedal, arm on road).
I really should know better.

Sorry shouldn't laugh but it is difficult not to. Glad you're okay and at least it wasn't your nice new pimy TT bike that got a scuff.

Stones and glasshouses comes to mind...

glad it was only a minor scrape and all is well.

My dad once lent on a Keep Left post that wasn't attached to the ground, and (strapped in) over he and post went in slow motion. He didn't hurt himself, but we all had a good laugh

I had a mate who drunkenly tried to punt a plastic road works cone up the road. Only to discover said cone was in place to warn people away from the more dangerous concrete bollard that it was concealing. - broken ankle, toes and weeks of physio :o
