BEST PADDED CYCLING SHORTS??

Postby Jon C C on a Bianchi » Mon Jun 22, 2009 6:48 pm

My last comfortable pair are worn out Finally gave up the ghost. So bught a pair of Endura for £40+ a couple of weeks ago and they're no bl**dy good. Absolute rubbish. :cry: won't go into detail but uncomfortable and after 50 miles my bum hurts! :shock: :shock:

Can anyone recommend the best padded shorts? I'll pay what it takes - I don't think you can cut corners on this. Too vital for cycling fun. :D

let me know

thanks

Santini Twist Gel bib shorts, £59.99 they are in the back room at Butlers with the bikes. Be careful there are other models that look just the same (they might be just as good though), which are more expensive.

as much as i love Switzerland and all things Swiss, my one experience of Assos shorts was a bit rubbish (chamois stitching came undone within a couple weeks, lycra was too slippery on saddle).

Seconded. I always use them now. As Sylv says there are a few variations so just make sure you get the right ones (looks like the pad is stitched on the outside with a sort of kevlar crotch). there are a more expensive pair that have air vents down below and another with a pad you can inflate with a small bulb. Odd I know but the normal twist gels are great, have a mesh bib too so you don't get sweaty strap problems.
