Website final stage - but we need a name??

Phase one of the website is nearing its final stages of completion.

we still have a few items that we need your help with...

Phase 1 is all about getting new members and having a ‘point of contact’ for new members as we currently do not have anything.

we have three different pages representing a snapshot of the club run groups with a bit of info about the rides and which VC to look out for when they arrive on their first club run.

The beginner group will be re-named for website purposes only the ‘The Enjoyables'
The training group will remain ‘The Training group’
The 17s- 19s have been group into one, again only for website purposes and we Need a name!!!!!

Without wishing to open any cans of worms I'm wondering "training" quite conveys the explosive nature of the, er, "training" group. For many people "training" won't be synonymous with riding at your fastest pace but it is certainly the fastest group in the club run. Maybe changing it to "racing" would describe it more accurately?

otherwise I quite like Dans idea of switching to a cycling terms grouping as long as there's a clear definition in there.

We are only show casing three types of group + Montys captains’ page and theses are 15s, 17-18, TG

The training group could be changed but as soon as you click on the page its very very clear is fast. I like 'the Incredible'

I am afraid we can't use the below because most people that will be clicking on the website may not have clue what a Domestiques is ect..

I like the Agreeable but my concern about calling that group the Agreeables is that as a club we are called that and would we be saying the 15s and the training group is not part of that? Or am I being to PC

Seriously, I think we should stick with the "average speed" descriptions that we use now. They describe what the group aims to do, and let people know what to expect and where they can place themselves in the "hierarchy".

We could also have a note explaining that the club policy is that new riders to the clubrun do not go with a group "higher" than a 17mph group for their first few outings so that they get used to group discipline, the calls, etc. before "graduating" to one of the faster groups.

Yep we covered that on the website and we do also ask them to drop a VC a mail before they come along.
have a look on the website development part of the forum and you as a VC can access the test site and see how it looks with the names such as enjoyable.

Elliot and I have been around the houses with this and we decided that the 15s as a heading means nothing, personally i think having a number much more complicated than a fun name. Remember is just to give people a feel of the club.

2p flinging...Dependables covers most areas.

Some might not be aspirational and just enjoy riding in that group even if they could go faster. In theory the middle groups form the majority of the CR members and it is more likely (or dependable) that there will be at least one group in that speed bracket any weekend regardless of weather.

First group to the cafe = The Comestibles

I quite like the Comfortable - Reliable - Dependable - Enjoyable - Amenable theme, keeping Agreeables for the Club as a whole. Just don't call the Training Group 'Comfortable', 'cause there'll be complaints.

Maybe Mr Senior can take out the Venerables from time to time ?
