Just me from the ACC riding the H25/1 A4 course near Aldermaston. After several rides in temperatures struggling to reach double figures this Saturday afternoon was a ridiculous 25 degrees which was quite nice but there was alas an irritating easterly wind blowing. The wind was, however, only in your face for about a mile before the turn at the east end of the course - the rest seemed quite variable.
I started quite well catching my minute man (whom I was not seeded to catch) after about 6 miles and then my three minute man earlier than I expected. All was going well until I started to lose concentration over the last eight miles or so, and seemed to be hitting just about every pot-hole, ditch, lump and manhole cover on the course. I ended up recording a slightly disappointing 1:00:31 failing yet again to get inside. Interestingly the two guys I caught didn't finish - maybe the heat got to them. Tejvan Pettinger was fastest with a long 53 so I guess it wasn't the fastest of days (I hope).
