[quote="Sylv"]The ACC B team, despite a podium-worthy first lap, in the end due to their sense of direction already experienced in the car, avoided by the narrowest of margins being beaten by a bunch of girls in pink who rode with teddy bears in their behind-the-saddle mounted bottle cages (true) :D
It wasn't you guys who got flagged for swearing at marshalls was it ?

Sylv, we killed the first lap but then Iliya bonked (the really fast first lap contributed to this I think) and we had to wait for him on the climbs throughout the 2nd lap.... also, we got lost like twice!! really bad marshalling in our opinion! I think we did well considering Iliya bonked, Ghaleb was riding George's winter bike and considering we got lost twice!!

Was great fun though, will do it again for sure! :D

I don't think it was us re swearing, although I believe Iliya/Ghaleb let the Marshall geeza know what they thought when he wasn't there to guide us!

John, the confusion may have been due to your late start? Once out on the course the marshalls would have no way of knowing that you'd missed your start slot & were then riding last.

I don’t know what happened in the first lap...but I know that is pretty fast for three men on road bikes!

We were annoyed by the marshalls but I am sure we didn’t swear at any of them.

I asked one marshal why is he packing 'turn left' signs when the race is still going on. He said: "we were too far off the back". So yes, he probably thought all teams have passed and he started packing up but we didn't swear.

We got lost in car getting there as we went to last year's HQ. :?

Despite all the excursions of the course it was a good experience and well done all Team A and Team B!! :D

Fair point, lesson here is to make your slot on time! :D

Chaps
not taking anything away from your ride thought you did great for 3 guys on road bikes with one of you suffering like a dog but your 1st lap split is faster than the Dynamo guys in 2nd and 3rd place all on TT bikes - i know some of their names from the TT season and they are super strong! however as i said very well done to you hope to see you at more TT's next year.......

Split distance = 17.5 miles
Split time = 0.6 hr (36 mins and 27 sec)

Avrage speed = 17.5/0.6 = 29.2 mph

I think that’s a little bit too fast for us

I'm only messing around .. and the Pearson women did well to beat quite a few male teams with also 3 finishers (we urged Carl to catch up with the one who'd dropped off and was 100m ahead of us, but he couldn't  )

What we want to know though, is does your final time include the obvious error on lap 1? (like if it was due to a sync error with your delayed start time). Which might mean your actual time is 3, or 6 min slower - did any of you have a computer or gps?

So here is the link to our ride. 35.4Km average speed (22mph) and I reckon we did first lap in between 42 and 44 minutes (I can't pinpoint where the time keepers were exactly but this is my estimate). Total time should be accurate as I started my Garmin 10 sec before the start and stopped it 20 sec or more after we passed the time keepers.

Sylv, as for the car GPS, unfortunately this device doesn't keep history of rides but if it helps, imagine map from the above link with spaghetti all over it but none of the spaghetti is touching the HQ mark. :D
