Another trip into deepest Wales, this time on the ultra fast Neath Valley course (R25/3L). Another nice day for a change with a light wind helping on the way out and not too bad on the way back. This is the only course I know where I can really make use of 53x11 - I actually ran out of gear reaching 46.2 mph on the long downhill section! Very fast going out at mostly 30 mph and hitting 27/28 mph occasionally on the way back. I ended up with a season's best 55:39 just 13 seconds off my PB and this despite not being able to recapture the excellent form I had last year after the 24.

Yes I have Andrew - it's such a treat riding on really nice smooth roads. Welsh roads in general seem to be much better than Surrey roads. Also I was 16 seconds off my PB rather than 13. See you on Saturday.
