NHRC 25

A very hot sultry day to say the least. Managed to neck a full bottle before the start and a few slurps during the ride but still ended up a quivering wreck at the finish.

It was a ride of two halfs really-managed 34mins for the first 14 miles which was ok by my standards but unfortunately it took me 30 odd minutes to complete the next 11 miles.

Finishing time 1-04:50.

Although my target event I was not too disappointed with the time as i reckon if the heat wasn`t so brutal maybe i wouldn`t have capitulated and finished with a half decent time.

Well done Terry, I DNF. It was brutal, car said 31 degrees but it was so airless. I could just about cope with that heat and went through 15 miles at a decent pace but was struggling to breath, it felt like having my head in a hot oven and I couldn't face another 10 miles feeling like I was suffocating so pulled up the slip to the HQ for the most fantastic cakes.

Certainly very hot and humid, but I seem to be able to cope with the heat, at least for a 25. Tried to pace my ride so that the long leg into the wind past the start wouldn't be too bad. Worked out ok and finished strongly in 58:38 - very pleased with that.
