Well played to Tim for getting up near the front, I was lounging halfway down the peleton when half the peleton fell over on the corner just before the end and then I had to fight a bit to get back to the group and then before I knew it we were sprinting for the finish.

Man it was hard work trying to attack in that race. Tim and I had a couple of gos and so did Simon H but it was just too hard to get any kind of gap and maintain it. The course is too fast. We ended up just sitting in for the rest of the race waiting for the sprint.

Tim did really well to get up to 3rd place in the sprint as it was a really big field. Now I know whos wheel to follow when it comes down to that type of finish.

I felt pretty dead in the legs still, my power and speed seems to have been negatively effected since we did that Tosh ride. I am going to have an easy week this week and hopefully the legs will be recovered in time for Norwood Hill next weekend.

See you soon.

cheers

Marek....

p.s. Well done to Max for coming 24th considering he pulled out of the race just before it started because his tyre had a big hole in it. :?: :?:

I loved that Circuit - not sure why it is so dangerous though - i nearly got pushed into the gravel on the last lap.

i had a 13 on the back and i think i may try an 11 next time as i ran out of juice..

i raced at Eastway on Sunday in the 3/4s and felt really good.. wet race but i was near to the front most of the time so it was ok once you got the feeling right on the corners - only one rider went down..

on the last lap - well what i thought was the last lap!!! i was right at the front on the back straight and no one would go past - i though oh my god i am gonna have to just go for it from the front - last corner and i absolutely drilled it - got 3 bike lengths and was just about to throw my arms up when i hear the bell - OH sh1t.. oh dear - you idiot Harris... instead of trying to carry on i sat up for a bit to recover and let a rider go past me on the hill... i grabbed his wheel and tried to recover again - then down the back straigth everyone drilled it and i just held on at the front in the top 5 .. felt ok again on the last corner but when i tried to go all out again i was gone - sooooo gutted as should have got top 3 again easily.

you live and learn - wont be doing that again!!!!

never mind

Oh dear, I remember doing exactly the same thing at Eastway in my second race, I thought I was going to win then hear the bell and I am like, oh bugger another lap. I know how you feel, probably a bit gutted and a bit stupid.

Sounds like you are going really well, looks like you are well suited to the closed circuits, lets see if we can do some damage on Sunday at Norwood hill, should be a few of us out.

Cheers

Marek...
