Yes and no Amy. :?

I punctured on the last lap, so didn't see the checkered flag, but all those crossing the line on the bell lap are usually recorded as finishing. Typically any dropped from the main race are then pulled out.

What a bummer, Keith

and wtf is that in your tyre? I've seen a few nails in tyres, including, once, my own.

Looks like a netting staple.

Is this a stock photo or your own?

I've had a staple in a tub lately - small enough hole to only go down overnight. Successfully taken care of with a bit of liquid latex through the valve hole.

Bad luck Keith. You never want a puncture in a race but I can never decide that if I'm going to get one whether I'd rather it at the start or the end. Start = wasted opportunity but race never got going enough to ruin it, finish = done so much of the hard work to have it scuppered but still got good race training anyway so not a wasted trip/day.

Amy / Phil, yes, some sort of metal staple.
Sylv, not a "stock photo", that's my tyre.

That looks like a Freddy Krueger nail to me.
