My second ride on the H10/181 Witney course (A40 north west of Oxford). Left home in the rain but with a forecast for dry weather at Witney which turned out to be the case along with an unfavourable stiff north westerly wind. The cross-head wind made for a long up hill slog to the turn and only a partial tailwind on the return made it difficult to make up time. Finished with 24:04 but the fast blokes still managed 20 minute rides. A long way to go for a mediocre ride.

Tough luck Steve, know how you feel, I drove to Liss for a 50 and was going well when my gear cable slipped and dumped me in 54x11 at 20 miles. So I had a 4.30am alarm for a DNF .
