A very early (pre 5am) start yesterday to get down to Liss for a 07:24 start time. Thankfully the Hindhead tunnel makes the journey a bit quicker than it used to be.

A reasonably quick course with a gift downhill start and then a rolling dual carriageway, but my legs just didn't want to play. Really struggled on all the draggy bits and was down to 16-17mph in some places. Finished in 1:03:53 for a lowly 91st position out of 110. Fastest was Rob Sharland of Kingston Wheelers in 51:11.

I didn't fancy the early start for the 25 (I notice Andrew was also down to ride the 25) so just rode the Saturday 10 - sounds like the conditions were a bit better for the 10 . After morning showers it was a dry, bright but breezy afternoon once again with the outward leg being harder than the fast return. I finished with 23:16 which was ok given the long steady miles I've been doing.

Yes I was due to ride and as my pb event looking forward to it. Unfortunately I slit badly and woke feeling like a zombie. Didn't feel it wise to five that far feeling like that and get back for father's day meal so gave it a miss.
