SERRL summer series race 1 - 2/3/4/w/j

100km road race (5 laps) round the Tenerden / Appledore course, 2 climbs each lap and a long exposed section. Race set off at a reasonable pace decided to take a chance early so after about 12 km i jumped off the front to take part in a 2 man break, we got swallowed up pretty quickly as the high winds made it hard work off the front.

The race mostly stayed together for the next 40km, it strung out to single file in the cross winds which made it hard work and after 65km i cracked on a climb and had to go for an early bath.

Seems on the final lap a break of 4 (Rhys Keepence of Dulwhich Paragon, Keith Watson of Aldata, Richard Poynter of London Phonix and Lee Comeford PMR@ToachimHouse) went clear and held off to the end, Rhys eventual besting Keith in a 2 up sprint for the line, Joe Sutton of PMR@ToachimHouse won the sprint from the bunch for 5th.
