ACC Open 25 G25/54

A wet and cold day (so many thanks to all those who marshaled), and a good turn out from ACC competitors well with 8 riders on the start sheet.

Set off too hard as usual but soon reigned it in for a decent pace, settled into the first lap with a lot of encouragement from the marshals on the side. At the halfway point got over taken by my minute man (one of the seeded), that kicked off a bit of a battle between the two of us, both dropping back and then overtaking for the next 12 miles.

Finished with with a time of 58:40 new pb which I was happy with.

Was also part of the winning team along with Andy Hamilton and Dominic Lowe

Nice ride Jonathan. I can't quite believe I was part of a winning team. I had an absolute shocker. Whatever 'it', is I did not have it today. Wet and cold it was but I could not get my legs to work. Made me realise how well I was going for the past two races.

I was a good 1/2 mph down on most of the sections, still managed to almost come a cropper at the Robin Hood rbt the second time, back wheel slid out on the wet causing me to almost have to go straight on before I could get control of it. I then spent the rest of the race tip toeing around the rest of the race , which on a course with so many was not helpful

Finished with 1.02.05. Thankfully it's only the end of April, plenty of time to get quicker.
