First place in the SERRL VC de Londres Road Race.

[quote]On Sunday VC de Londres hosted the SERRL road race at Benenden in Kent. The race was for 3/4/J/W over 80km and was run off in rather muggy conditions on the hilly circuit.

After the first lap the bunch came through the finish pretty much intact with just a few stragerlers and some puncture victims off the back.

Next time though, a break of four, John Sadler (Addiscombe CC), Simon Breakwell (Private), Russell Short (Bikepark Cyclefit) and Robert Laing (VC Deal): led the bunch by 15 seconds. By the bell lap they had managed to increase the gap to 1 minute over the bunch with Ken Buist (Bikepark Cyclefit) and Chris Millett (London Fire Brigade) between at 40 seconds.

With some hard riding from the bunch on the last lap the race almost came together but Sadler managed to escape his companions to take victory with Breakwell second and Short taking third. Laing also from the break managed to hold on to take forth closely followed by Millett and a strung out bunch.
