Out of all the finishers I probably came last, if you can count finishing when I had a mechanical within 20 yards of the finish line.

Overall I had a very lazy race, I sat near the back of the peleton for pretty much the whole race. Did not see a 9 man break go only learnt of it on the last lap when they were 2 mins ahead. Decided that I should probably do some work so made my way up to the front, but it was going quite quick so just sat in around third place.

Coming up for the sprint finish I was in a reasonably good place, although was on the inside, and I prefer to be on the outside when in a sprint. Got out the saddle to give it a good go and then ping. One of my Krysrium spokes snapped and then wrapped itself around the cassette taking my chain off. This happened at the worst time as everyone was building for the sprint, thankfully I managed to stay upright and everyone went around me safely.

I think this was my penalty for having a lazy race. Looking at my HRM at the end I was only in my Vo2 zone for 44mins, in comparison to Crowhurst I was at this level for about 1hr 30mins.

Another visit to Butlers for me, I broke a spoke on my training bike coming back from work on Friday, must be getting too heavy with these spokes pinging all over the place.

Cheers
