Not sure of the overall result yet, but am pretty sure that Paul Tunnel came fourth and I came fifth.

Had a go at getting away a couple of times with Max and with Rob but to no avail. Rob, Neil and Brian Tidey were in the race but not counted in our overall team as we had already elected the following five:

Max
Richard Munday
Brian Thompson
Paul Tunnel

It was a bit windy today so think this helped the peleton, also as it was a team event people were chasing down small breaks if they did not have a man in the break.

Ended up being a sprint finish. I came into the final straight some way back and was not looking as if I was going to come anywhere. Paul Tunnel was pounding away on the front and I thought he could have gone too early but he did not give up. All of a sudden the group in front of me opened up and I blasted past about 20 guys and got myself into fifth place over the line just behind Paul.

Big bang behind ended up being a crash with Richard Munday down and out. Not sure where our third man came, which was Brian Thompson as Max punctured and Richard was on the floor (he is fine see general). I will put the result up soon to let you know where we came as a team overall but it cannot be too bad.

We came second overall in the team championship. So close to first as we had the same points as the winners, but they had one person in a slightly higher position and therefore got the win.

Still, second place is pretty damn good in my opinion, so well done to all those involved.
