Barcombe 7th June

A nice 2/3 race, after the rains was the plan and when I got the the start the weather was looking good, but roads still wet.

The group was quite small 40/50 ish and things were looking good. Then after one lap I punctured. :(

No support vehicle so I had to walk a mile in cleats to the marshals. They gave me a spare tube. Joined back into the group now 2 laps down and the tyre started to go flat again. :( :(

So I had to retire, rode back to HQ, fixed the bike and went for a nice ride to Ditchling, and got beat up the hill by a kid out with the De Ver club run who, caught up with me and overtook still in the big ring

But a nice sunny day anyhow, went home to do some gardening,

Oh dear, not a brilliant day. At least it didn't rain on you :D

Don't be too upset about getting beaten by a kid from the De Vers Club. Maurice Burton, the owner of De Vers shop and club, used to be a pro in Europe, and his kids have started cycling and both of them are really good. One of them nearly won the Bec CC Hill climb last year. This was probably the one you met!!!!!
